Room to Move by the award winning playwright, Hannie Rayson was published in 1985.
During the 70s women started to express the feelings of dissatisfaction with issues in their lives and the Women’s Movement emerged. Men, even the ones who did not feel they had a problem, were told loudly and clearly that they did.
This production, set in the style of the 80s, presents a 29 year old lodger who moves in with a 62 year old widow. She is looking for company and he is looking for refuge. The widow’s children are just looking for a drama to deflect from their own.
This comedy will get our audiences to share a laugh while recognising the battle of the sexes.
